SimplePC Completes Acquisition of Emerald Internet Services

GREENWOOD, SC - July 22, 2005 - SimplePC, LLC today announced it has completed the acquisition of Emerald Internet Services, Inc., a pioneer of internet access service in Greenwood county.

This acquisition will further SimplePC's strategy to provide the best value-added internet services to the Greenwood community.

Frequent computer repairs become costly - a result of today's web surfing experience where viruses and spyware are just around every corner. The introduction of "insurance" for the computer, where users pay a slightly higher monthly rate for service and receive free computer repair, prevents the unexpected costs of repairs.

Headquartered in Greenwood and founded in 1995, Emerald Internet Services provides dial-up and free computer repair services to the Greenwood community. Emerald Internet was one of the first companies to bring internet access to Greenwood residents. Emerald Internet began bundling free computer repair into the service several years ago. Their bundled solution allows users to freely surf the internet while insuring them from computer downtime, typically caused by viruses, spyware, or user error. Its service was in use by more than 5,000 users prior to high-speed services being available in Greenwood.

Founded in 1997 by resident James A. Kennemore, Jr., SimplePC provides residential and commercial technical support, sales, and internet services. In 2003, SimplePC began deploying high-speed DSL internet services in Greenwood, providing the community with a means of using the full potential of the internet. SimplePC recently more than tripled its staff to improve the quality of service within each of its departments and to meet the demands of the acquisition.

"The acquisition of Emerald Internet by SimplePC will provide Emerald Internet's current customers with improved customer support, a faster and more reliable internet connection, and faster turnaround times on computer repairs," promises James. SimplePC's customers will be able to switch to a new VIP rate which includes computer repair insurance.
